Groundhog Day Fragrances — Scents I’d Choose If the Day Kept Repeating

If I had to relive the same day over and over… what would I want to smell like?
If I’m being honest, winter 2026 has felt a bit like being trapped in Groundhog Day — waking up to the same day, the same weather, the same news.
But this isn’t about being stuck.
It’s about what steadies you when nothing changes.
Rather than novelty, this is about livability — the scents you could return to again and again without fatigue. The ones that feel familiar, regulating, grounding. If I were stuck in a loop, I wouldn’t want something loud or demanding. I’d want something that feels like home.
These are the fragrances I could wear on repeat without ever getting sick of them. Comfort scents. Skin-adjacent scents. Scents that feel like emotional muscle memory.
Now that Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow and we are in for 6 more weeks of winter — these are my Groundhog Day Fragrances.

The Regulator
Dries Van Noten – Soie Malaquais
Low projection. Intimate. One of those scents you don’t wear for others — you wear it because it makes you feel better.
Soie Malaquais captures the closeness and fluidity of silk against skin. Soft powdery hints of bergamot, blackcurrant, rose, and a silk accord give way to a chestnut and cocoa base that leans gently gourmand while staying close and comforting.
Grounded doesn’t mean invisible — and this scent proves it.
Why it grounds: It reminds you of who you are, even on repeat days.

The Skin Scent
Molton Brown – Milk Musk EDP
Warm, soft, cocooning — the scent equivalent of a cozy sweater. Milk Musk is lightly sweet, deeply creamy and powdery, and oh-so comforting. Often described like your own skin, only better.
This isn’t a sugar-sweet gourmand vanilla. It’s textured. Soft without being coy. Sweet without being cute. Refined, luxurious, and quietly powerful. Milk Musk is cozy tonka bean, white musk with notes of milk and cedarwood, all giving intimate, skin-close vibes.
This is the scent you reach for when you need to exhale.
Why it grounds: It doesn’t ask anything of you.
The Reset
Bal d’Afrique helps you begin — even if it’s the same beginning.
Clean, quietly uplifting, never demanding. With notes of citrus, warm florals, and earthy vetiver, it’s slightly powdery, bright, and effortlessly sophisticated. This is a scent that carries me between who I was and who I am.
Why it grounds: It marks time without pressure.
The Mood-Lifter
What says grounding more than earth itself?
Desired Earth is reassuring in the most subtle way — gently shifting your nervous system, boosting energy, and evoking calm joy. Fresh air meets warm spices, powdery iris, and earthy notes that feel like nature at its best.
One inhale of the sweet balsamic notes, iris, and vanilla carries me somewhere quiet and beautiful.
Why it grounds: It gently lifts without overstimulating.

The “I’ll Never Get Tired of This” Scent
Celine – Bois Dormant
If I had to choose just one — this would be it.
Comfortable, light, and quietly sophisticated, Bois Dormant is endlessly wearable. Notes of bergamot, juniper berries, orris butter, and cedar make this one of the most livable fragrances in my collection.
I will never tire of this scent.
Why it grounds: It becomes part of you.
Closing Thought
While today may technically be Groundhog Day, there are seasons — even long stretches of life — that can feel stuck on repeat.
Maybe the point isn’t to escape the day. Maybe it’s choosing something familiar enough to feel secure inside the repetition.
For me, if the day keeps repeating, I’d want to smell like something that reminds me I’m still here.
