Nobile 1942 — La Danza Delle Libellule Exceptional Edition
Floral Fruity Gourmand
2015
Top Notes: Bergamot, Red Apple
Middle Notes: Cinnamon, Cocoa
Base Notes: Vanilla, Cedar, Musk
Gourmand fragrances can often get dismissed as juvenile or overly sweet — but that’s not the case with La Danza Delle Libellule Exceptional Edition.
Yes, it’s sweet. But this version feels evolved — more complex, more refined, and undeniably more grown.

Where the original leans into that crisp apple opening, the Exceptional Edition softens and deepens. The brightness gives way to something richer —
a juicier, almost caramelized fruitiness wrapped in velvety vanilla, cocoa, and warm spice. Cedar and musk quietly anchor it, keeping everything balanced and grounded.
Interestingly, I don’t get a distinct apple here, maybe in the dry down it becomes more apparent, but ever so slightly. Rather, for me, it’s more of an overall fruitiness — softened, sweetened, and melted into creamy vanilla and butter-like warmth.
And while I love cinnamon in food, I don’t usually want to wear it — but this isn’t sharp or spicy. It’s subtle. More like the filling of an apple pie than the spice itself. Warm, blended, and gently folded in.
That’s what makes this work.
The sweetness is there, but it never tips into cloying. The cedar and musk give it structure — a quiet maturity that keeps it feeling elevated rather than edible.

Originally released in 2015 and designed with aromatherapy principles to evoke happiness, it acts as a "cuddle in a bottle" to soothe and provide comfort, ideal for stressful or colder days.
The Exceptional Edition feels like a true evolution from the original — a richer, more nuanced interpretation that leans into the base notes rather than the opening. The vanilla and cocoa take center stage, creating something creamy, comforting, and quietly luxurious.
It wears beautifully year-round, but there’s no denying it shines in cooler months — fall, winter, soft sweaters, cooler days. That said, it’s versatile enough to move easily from daytime to evening without missing a beat.
According to several sources, the fragrance draws inspiration from The Dance of the Dragonflies by Franz Lehár — an “invitation to take life a little less seriously.”
And honestly… that tracks.
This feels like indulgence without guilt. Sweetness without excess.
A small, sensory reminder that not everything has to be so serious all the time.
Very much on brand for Sooo Human.
La Danza Delle Libellule Exceptional Edition isn’t just a fragrance you wear —
it’s aromatherapy principles shine through making it one you reach for when you want to feel a little softer in your own skin… or because in New England, spring is more of a suggestion, perhaps even a state of mind, than a season.
