Perfume as Intention I Ode Ona

Sometimes perfume is about smelling good.
Sometimes it’s about making an entrance.
And, sometimes… perfume can be something quieter.
Something more personal.
If you have followed me for a while, you know I am all about the latter.

Meet Ode Ona:
ODE ONA is a Hong Kong-founded, France-based niche fragrance house built around a really beautiful idea: perfume as intention.
Blending Eastern aromatherapy traditions with Western perfumery, the brand creates fragrances designed around different mindsets and emotions — almost like capturing the balance of yin and yang in a bottle.
Instead of just asking “How does this smell?”
They’re asking, “How do you want to feel?”
These fragrances aren’t overpowering.
They have a quiet presence — the kind of scents that linger and slowly develop on the skin, creating an intimate aura rather than a loud announcement.
They feel like perfume and like a quiet daily practice — something just for you.
You know I am all about intentions, and daily practices of self care.
So much of life is built through small practices…
Caring for our bodies.
Caring for our minds.
Caring for our relationships.
These fragrances feel like they belong in that same space.
Beauty Can Be Responsible & Impactful:
The bottles were designed as mindful interpretations of “wearable emotions” and “mindsets”, sleek and minimalist. The perfect glass cube, adorned with a half-dome made from 100% recycled post-consumer plastics and they themselves are recyclable— but really, who would dispose of such a beautiful piece of artwork.
Beyond their sustainability commitment with recyclable caps and packaging, the brand also puts a lot of thought into impact. With each of the six fragrances aligned with a global charitable cause.
Charitable Support:
Carte Blanche - Gives the warmth of nourishment and with each 50mL purchase a fresh meal is donated to those impacted by crises and disasters.
Dawn Earth – Gives back to roots
with each 50mL purchase a tree is planted in the Amazonian forest.
EverJet – gives light to empower with every EverJet purchase a solar light is donated to a child in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Teapot Sonder – gives literacy and hope with each 50mL purchase a week of school is donated for a child to read, learn and grow through Room to Read.
Moonkissed Rhapsody – gives cleaning the ocean and saving marine life with every 50mL purchase 1kg of shoreline debris is removed from biologically important habitats.
Eden Bond – gives love and care
and with each 50mL purchased an essential love pack is donated to women affected by abuse and trafficking.
That’s Six fragrances.
Six mindsets.
Six ways of giving back.
To that end, I wanted to invest in this brand and the missions they support, so I happily purchased this collection for myself, none of the bottles were gifted.
My Own 'Ode Ona' Collection:

Currently I have, Carte Blanche, which is this serene, soft woods, almost a veil-like skin scent designed to evoke “5-minutes of me time” and we all know I love my me time.
There's soft sage, and pine needle tea which offers an uplifting, citrusy, and slightly balsamic presence. Carte Blanche is gentle with a subtle minty undertone, blended with sandalwood.
If you love a soft, natural, slightly earthy scent, you’ll love Carte Blanche.

Teapot Sonder is one of the most comforting fragrances I’ve smelled in a long time — tea and biscuit, presented in simple and soothing notes like pink pepper, lemon, Hojicha tea — a Japanese green tea with a distinctively warm, smoky, and nutty quality, followed by soft layers of orris, woods and musk.
It really does invite you to take the time to sit with a warm cup of something special on a quiet afternoon.

Eden Bond centers around jasmine and orange flower connecting with warm, spicy sensual notes, like ginger and Timut pepper.
I read one review that likened it to a floral tapestry with a spicy-sweet duality, and I get that totally. The Angelica brings a spiky, greenness, and the base of Labdanum and vanilla give a soft sweetness that really stays with you.
Impatiently Waiting:
I am currently impatiently awaiting the arrival of:
EverJet, described as “olfactory armor” with its leathery forward profile, layered with citrus, florals and woody undertones.
Moonkissed Rhapsody, which features lavender and musk and is designed to evoke calm.
And Dawn Earth, inspired by forest bathing, with moss and citrus notes that’s both grounding and fresh.
I can’t wait to have them as part of my Sooo Human scent collection.
Final Thoughts:
I love the whole notion of fragrance as mindset, emotion, and intention.
Exploring Ode Ona reminds me that perfume doesn’t always have to be about projection or performance.
Sometimes it can simply be a small moment of intention.
A quiet practice.
And … that feels very Sooo Human.
