I have really been looking forward to exploring the perfume house Nishane. I think I may have sampled a few of their fragrances in the past, but nothing immediately stands out in my memory. That makes this discovery feel even more exciting — a chance to really sit with the brand and see what resonates.

For this round I explored Wūlóng Chá, B-612, Meant To Be Seen, Ani, and Hundred Silent Ways.

One thing I love about Nishane is that it is the first and only Istanbul-based niche perfume house, with the city itself serving as both muse and backdrop. Istanbul sits at the intersection of continents, cultures, and histories, and Nishane seems to carry that same layered richness into their fragrances.

The word Nishane means sign, symbol, or mark — and this fragrance house is definitely leaving its mark on the global perfume world.

Aromatic Green Citrus Tea

First up was the much talked-about Wūlóng Chá, an aromatic, green, citrusy tea fragrance — and this one delivers surprises around every corner.

It bursts open with bright citrus notes of orange, mandarin, and intense lemon, lifted by a slightly peppery nuance from Litsea Cubeba. It’s fresh, vibrant, and intensely green — not the usual gentle start you might expect from a tea fragrance.

Then comes the next surprise in the heart, where oolong tea and nutmeg begin to emerge. There’s a creamy, buttery smoothness here, softened by subtle florals before the fragrance settles into a base of Mediterranean fig and musk.

The entire composition feels like a beautiful juxtaposition — bright yet smooth, crisp yet creamy — and it’s absolutely stunning.

Woody Aromatic

The moment I sprayed this, I realized I had smelled it before. It’s one of those fragrances that quietly lingers in your memory.

Inspired by The Little Prince, B-612 is meant to evoke nostalgia and wonder. While I didn’t necessarily get that story directly, what I did experience was a beautifully layered feeling of warmth and comfort.

It opens with an herbaceous blend of lavender, cypress, and geranium, creating a slightly minty, slightly peppery herbal freshness that runs throughout the fragrance.

The heart is where things soften, there’s clean musk, Cashmeran, sandalwood, cedar, and patchouli create a smooth, almost velvety warmth. At moments, there’s even a subtle cocoa-like depth that appears unexpectedly.

The base settles into something green and earthy with oakmoss, musk, and a hint of sweetness from tonka bean.

This is a quietly alluring fragrance — one I can easily imagine wearing and shining in during the cooler months.

Amber Floral Vanilla

I am currently on a green vanilla fragrance kick, and Ani absolutely delivers. What a vanilla gem.

Ani beautifully blends warmth, spice, and creaminess without drifting into the sugary sweetness that often comes with vanilla fragrances.

The opening is sharp and energizing with ginger, pink pepper, and bright citrus notes. It feels like sunshine on the skin — but on a crisp, cool day.

As it warms, the heart introduces black currant and cardamom, bringing a resinous warmth that remains slightly woody and lightly sweet while still preserving the green brightness from the opening.

I don’t really notice the Turkish rose until the fragrance settles into the base, where the scent softens into a smooth, powdery vanilla.

If you enjoy vanilla with a fresh, green edge, Ani is a stunner.

Full Bottle? Without hesitation.

Woody, Floral, Musk

Before even smelling this fragrance, I was already intrigued by the brand’s description: A scent that anchors the light when you feel unseen.

I don’t care what it smells like — I already love the sentiment.

Fortunately, the fragrance itself is just as beautiful. This is a soft, second-skin scent built around many of my favorite elements: the powdery sweetness of orris butter, gentle woods, a slight nuttiness, and an overall calming quality.

There’s something incredibly comforting about it. At moments it feels like being wrapped in a warm hug — the kind my mom used to give before she passed, but that I can somehow still feel.

It’s often described as a “clean girl aesthetic” fragrance, and while I can understand that comparison, to me it feels deeper than that. It’s refined, intimate, and incredibly natural — like an extension of skin, self, and humanity.

Full Bottle? Emphatic yes.

Floral Gourmand

This one surprised me.

Hundred Silent Ways is sexy, refined, and sweet, bursting with white florals — and that’s saying something, because I’m typically not a tuberose person.

The fragrance opens with peach, mandarin, and a generous dose of tuberose. Normally that might push me away, but here the composition keeps it balanced and wearable.

As it dries down, the fragrance becomes smoother and creamier, revealing a velvety vanilla and soft powdery musk.

Inspired by the famous Rumi quote, "I closed my mouth and spoke to you in a hundred silent ways," the fragrance feels almost cinematic. I can picture two lovers sharing a moment of quiet intensity — no words, no touch, just that magnetic pull between them.

Final Thoughts

These Nishane samples were a joy to explore, and they left me wanting to dive even deeper into the brand.

The fragrances feel bold, beautifully constructed, and long-lasting, with compositions that reflect both artistic craftsmanship and the culturally rich inspiration behind the house.

If these samples are any indication, Nishane is a brand that knows exactly how to make a mark.

And judging by my growing wish list, it’s a mark that might soon land on my perfume shelf as well.
