Summer may be (almost) over, but my scents are still stuck in July. Anyone else having trouble letting go of the smell of coconut, pineapple, sunscreen, and sex wax? I am. That’s why today feels like the perfect day to rank my top five fragrances of summer 2025. And you have no clue how hard it was to stop at five.

In no particular order (because that would be impossible)… here are the ones that carried me through summer.

ā˜€ļøĀ My Summer Favorites (Top 5… Okay, 6)

This smells like sex on the beach —

yes, I said what I said. It’s bursting with coconut, pineapple, tonka bean, and sunscreen. Every spritz is sun-kissed and I can’t get enough.

She’s cute, she’s sweet, and she’s giving floral fruity gourmand. Pineapple, melon, and tangerine open the show, then it settles into gummy candy, jasmine, vanilla, and sugar. A tasty fragrance for summer days and nights.

A unisex scent my son actually picked as his first fragrance (proud mom moment). Fresh, beachy, coconut + bergamot = sunshine in a bottle. It smells like a day at the beach, but easily transitions into a night out.

This duo dropped in May and set the tone for my whole summer. Ocean mist meets velvety peach — divine. They don’t last forever (body mists rarely do), but worth every overspray.

If summer was a dessert, it would be Victoria with it's warm, citrus, spicy, and sweet layers all at once. Think meringue pie meets delicate florals with a vanilla base. Captivating and cozy.

Honorable Mention:

This one had to sneak in. Inspired by Akoya pearls, it weaves pink pepper and cardamom with ylang-ylang, rose, and iris. Elegant, iridescent, and timeless. Truly a jewel, just like the name implies.

šŸ‘‰Ā Narrowing down my Summer 2025 favorites was exhausting — I could easily list ten more.

šŸ¬Ā The Marshmallow Moment

Fragrance is having such a moment right now. It’s memory, nostalgia, mood-shifting. Did you know certain scents can even release neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins? That’s why fragrance feels like happiness, relaxation, even love in a bottle.

For me, marshmallow is the ultimate happy scent. Sugary, airy, nostalgic — it conjures childhood innocence and sweet indulgence. And this summer, marshmallow fragrances exploded. Honestly, marshmallow deserves its own list.

šŸ”„Ā Top 5 Marshmallow Fragrances

These first two are not your obvious marshmallow fragrances, they are everyone’s favorite campfire candy with a twist.

Not your typical marshmallow scent, Commodity keeps you on your toes with this wickedly good fragrance of marshmallow + skin musk + tonka bean. A fireside twist on this gourmand that’s creamy, warm, and balanced.

ree

Another twist on this favorite, Casablanca brings blends marshmallows, cardamom, and smoky incense. Think campfire flames, amber, and sandalwood. Refined and sophisticated.

These last three are the more traditional sweet, fruity, gourmand fragrances you would expect with marshmallow.

Ard al Zaafaran Pink BlushPink Blush

Marshmallow meets strawberry, orange, coconut, whipped cream, sugar, and vanilla. Sweet and fun but fades fast, so lot's of sprays involved (whomp!)

ree

A go-to summer marshmallow fragrance. Bursting with berry, citrus, orange blossom, and candy notes. Affordable and delicious.

Nearly 20% oil = long lasting power. Lemon, apple, strawberry jam, coconut, orange blossom, marshmallow, jasmine, vanilla, musk, praline. I even spray my pillows with it. Sweet dreams, literally.

šŸ‘‰Ā What fascinates me is marshmallow’s versatility, is how this sweet tasty treat can transform into so many different experiences. It works for the tweens and teens with its carefree youthful exuberance, yet it can create a sophisticated, multi-dimensional gourmand fragranceĀ for the mature wearer. Whether it’s a spicy variation toasted over a firepit or dripping with whipped cream and fruit, marshmallow is having a moment, and I am sooo here for it all.

šŸ‚Ā Eyes on Fall

Now that I’ve made myself hungry with all this sweet talk… let’s look towards fall.

I’m slowly reaching for vanillas (like they ever left), amber, patchouli, boozy-cozy gourmands, woody scents, and fall fruits like pear and fig.

My early fall lineup includes:

On my must-try list:

✨ Why Fragrance is Sooo Human

For me, fragrance isn’t about rules or even seasons. It’s about memory, emotion, and living in-between. Right now, I’m letting myself stay somewhere between balmy August sunsets and cool September mornings.

Whether you’re waist-deep in your fragrance era or just starting with body and hair mists, I hope you celebrate the season in all its autumnal glory. I look forward to tracing notes together and sharing our everyday scents as self-expression — because fragrance is such a Sooo Human way to connect through memory and emotion.

Ā

šŸ’¬Ā Do you change your scents with the seasons, or stick to your ride-or-dies year-round?

Ā

Got questions or a favorite fragrance I missed? I’d love to hear from you.

XOXO,

Hilary
